We treat D1903V as a symbolic trigger for examining how exposure to emotionally ambiguous or “deep” content (indexed to a specific past date, 2019-03-16) combined with an agentic request (“make me feel something better”) can modulate affective state. We propose the Affective Contrast Hypothesis : asking to feel “something better” following deep or negative emotional engagement enhances hedonic recalibration.
