Ek Daav Dhobi Pachad follows the misadventures of – a charismatic, quick‑witted laundry‑shop owner in the bustling lanes of Pune’s old market . When a priceless antique necklace, smuggled out of a local museum, accidentally lands in his wash‑basin, Sanjay becomes an unwitting pawn in a high‑stakes cat‑and‑mouse chase.

The turning point of the film occurs when Aaba gets into a fierce rivalry with another gangster. During a violent confrontation, Aaba is killed. The police, led by a cunning inspector, decide to use this situation to their advantage. They discover that Vicky bears an uncanny physical resemblance to the dead gangster Aaba (both characters played by Bharat Jadhav).
